ECOSS is an independent environmental resource promoting sustainable economic development and a safer, healthier, cleaner environment in Puget Sound.
Through education and outreach, ECOSS helps businesses and individual residents - many of whom are not native English-speakers - prevent pollution, conserve energy, manage hazardous materials and clean up contaminated properties.
FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL
Established in 1994 as a free resource and referral service for businesses and members of the Duwamish community, ECOSS has grown significantly in response to community needs. ECOSS has served more than 2,500 families and 1,200 businesses, saving them more than $1 million.
ECOSS' funding comes from local governmental agencies, foundations, donations and memberships. Our services remain confidential, free of charge and independent.
Simply put, ECOSS helps the community be environmentally responsible,
whether addressing contaminated property issues or translating hazardous
material labels for those in non-native English-speaking households.
